Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are both holding onto huge leads in Louisiana, just days before that state’s primary, another sign that the two front-runners are still on the path to capturing their respective party nominations.

Trump leads the Republican field with 41 percent of the Republican vote, according to a Hayride/Magellan poll released Thursday. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is in a distant second place with 21 percent, followed by Florida Sen. Marco Rubio at 15 percent, Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 9 percent and outgoing candidate Ben Carson at 5 percent.

In Louisiana, candidates must win at least 20 percent of the vote to win any delegates.

On the Democratic side, Clinton leads Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, 61 percent to 14 percent.

The poll found that if Trump and Clinton were to run against each other, Trump would keep 75 percent of the Republican vote, and 10 percent would opt for Clinton and 25 percent are undecided. On the Democratic side, Clinton holds just 67 percent of the vote, and Trump would steal 23 percent.

Cruz and Rubio do slightly better against Clinton with Republican voters and slightly worse against her with Democrats.

The field poll of 690 Republican voters and 865 Democratic voters was conducted on March 1 and carry a margin of error of 3.9 percentage points and 3.3 percentage points, respectively.
