Christie dishes about doughnuts, dangerous politicians

The way to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie‘s heart might be through his stomach — and Oprah Winfrey has found out his favorite treat: doughnuts. In an interview with Oprah set to air on the Oprah Winfrey Network at 9 p.m. Sunday, the outspoken GOP governor said he knew he’d fallen for wife Mary Pat when they met at the University of Delaware in the 1980s, as he’d been inspired by her faith, independence and spontaneity — like when she suggested stealing doughnuts from the dining hall kitchen. “Let’s go break into the kitchen in the dining hall at college because we smell that they are baking doughnuts for the next morning,” he quoted Mary Pat saying when recalling their fun together. “So let’s sneak in and steal some of the doughnuts now.” Christie also dished about his imperviousness to David Letterman‘s fat jokes, and his view of President Obama‘s political prowess. “He is as good a politician as I’ve ever seen,” said Christie. “He’s really good at it. And I think he’s very charismatic. And I think he’s genuine. I think what he says he believes he believes. That’s a very dangerous politician.”
