Trump: ‘These hands hit a golfball 285 yards!’

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump offered an original spelling of the word “lying” and bragged about his hands in a speech Saturday morning to supporters in Wichita, Kan., where Republicans are caucusing.

Calling Sen. Ted Cruz, a liar, Trump said he calls the Texas Republican “Lyin’ Ted Cruz.”

“How would you spell that?” Trump aked. “L, Y, E, N. Lyen’! With a big apostrophe,” Trump said. It was not clear if he was deliberately spelling the word wrong.

Trump is campaigning in Kansas instead of addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference outside Washington. Trump backed out of speaking at CPAC because organizers rejected his requests for extra time for his speech and to avoid taking questions from attendees, according to American Conservative Union chairman Matt Schlapp.

During his Saturday speech, Trump responded to an attendee who displayed a sign asking to see Mr. Trump’s hands. Sen. Marco Rubio has joked that Trump’s allegedly small hands are a liability, an a reference to an adage that the size of of a man’s hand’s corresponds to the size of his penis.

Trump responded at Thursday’s debate on Fox News by explicity addressing the issue. “There is no problem there,” he declared.

In Wichita, Trump brandished his hands: “These hands hit a golfball 285 yards!”

“Look at these hands,” Trump said.

Trump, still up big over any opponent in the polls, appeared to be enjoying himself.

“This is better than real estate,” the developer said. “This is more fun.”
