Former D.C. Mayor Anthony Williams and his wife Diane threw their first soiree for presumptive Mayor-elect Vincent Gray on Saturday at the British Isle Bistro Againn downtown.
A Yeas & Nays spy tells us Williams’ mother, Virginia E. Hayes Williams, not only attended (as she has almost all of Gray’s meet and greets) but also was one of the sponsors for the event.
Gray said she has been a strong supporter.
“Mrs. Williams has been reinstated as the ‘first mother’ of D.C.,” he said, laughing. “She has adopted me as her newest son.”
