Trump: Carson ‘just doesn’t have the experience’

Donald Trump said Republican rival Ben Carson “just doesn’t have the experience” to become president.

“I like Ben,” Trump said Tuesday during an appearance on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

“I’m going to make the greatest deals you’ve ever seen on trade,” he added. “It’s not his thing.”

Carson has eclipsed Trump in recent Iowa polls and is even approaching him nationally, threatening Trump’s lead for the first time in the primary.

Trump also took aim at Sen. Marco Rubio, whose popularity has surged since he gave a memorable performance at last week’s GOP debate. The real estate mogul said Rubio is “overrated.”

Trump called on networks to donate more of the profits they earn from hosting GOP primary debates to veterans groups, a cause he has touted repeatedly on the campaign trail.

“I personally don’t care too much in terms of the debate,” Trump said of recent internal tensions over the debate format. “They can ask tough questions, I really don’t care.”

Carson led fellow Republicans in developing a list of demands to give networks before future debates, including mandatory opening and closing statements and an equal number of questions for each candidate.
