Trump tricked on Twitter, mistakes British Labour leader

Donald Trump has gotten into trouble again with his Twitter account.

The GOP front-runner accidentally tweeted a photo of far-left British politician Jeremy Corbyn, who was elected leader of the Labour Party on Saturday.

It appears Trump believed the photo to be that of a supporter’s father. The original tweet, from @HamishP95, said “My dad is thinking of voting for the first time ever for you,” accompanied by the photo of Corbyn.

Trump retweeted the message, adding “Great.”

The owner of the @HamishP95 handle was apparently quite pleased with his prank, responding “I have ruined an election campaign” and “awaiting my 15 minutes of clickbait journalism fame.”

Trump hadn’t deleted his tweet as of Saturday night, even though it got a snarky response from Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a GOP presidential rival who’s trailing far behind in polls.

Jindal made fun of Trump’s failure to recognize a prominent political figure, tweeting a famous photo of Russian President Vladimir Putin riding bare-chested on a horse with the message: “Wow. Is there a world leader you DO recognize? Is this guy going to vote for you too?”

It’s not the first time Trump has been duped on Twitter. In July, he retweeted a photo that appeared to be of a Vietnam veteran but was instead of Jeffrey MacDonald, who was convicted in 1979 of killing his pregnant wife and two daughters.
