Just like us: Russert excited to write substance about Jersey Shore

So Rep. Paul Broun, R-Ga., finally is clued into the news cycle: He realized Snooki from MTV’s Jersey Shore is a big hit.

He even figured out a way to capitalize on her fame by comparing the reality star with our commander in chief.

“Snookie, from the Jersey Shore, has more substance than President Obama’s offer,” Broun said in a press release Tuesday about Obama’s attempt to incorporate Republican ideas in the health care bill.

Well, MSNBC’s Luke Russert found this reference particularly amusing, and gave the congressman the kind of play he was looking for by penning a First Read post with Domenico Montanaro on Broun’s interest in the Jersey Shore.

“I wrote a real news article about the GOP, Snooki/Sn00ki and Obama … that just happened,” Russert Tweeted.
