Clinton holding $350k per couple fundraiser with Clooneys

Hillary Clinton asked supporters to pay $353,400 per couple to sit with her, George Clooney and his wife Amal at an exclusive fundraiser in San Francisco on April 15.

The event will be the first of two times Clinton and the Clooneys will collaborate in April. The next day, a supporter only has to pay $33,4000 to dine with the candidate and the Hollywood icons.

If supporters don’t feel the need to sit with the guests of honor at the April 15 fundraiser, they could reportedly donate $100,000 to be named a “co-host” or $33,400 to simply be an attendee.

The events will fundraise for the Hillary Victory Fund, which not only contributes to Hillary for America but also the Democratic National Committee and 32 state party committees. While the maximum donation an individual can give to a campaign is $2,700, the Victory Fund can accept much larger donations because it is a joint-fundraising committee.

While the former secretary of state has held numerous fancy fundraising dinners in which supporters have donated up to $50,000, this is the first time in the 2016 primary cycle she has asked for this much from supporters.

The event with the Clooneys will occur at the home of venture capitalist Shervin Pishevar. Co-hosts for the event include Jeffery and Marilyn Katzenberg, both top fundraisers for Barack Obama in 2008. Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw along with Clinton donors Haim and Cheryl Saban will also co-host.

In recent weeks the campaign has sent out numerous emails to all supporters raffling off a ticket to attend the event for free.

“In all of this clutter, there’s been one consistent voice. A voice of tolerance and experience, from a candidate who’s spent a lifetime fighting for the rights of the less fortunate,” Clooney wrote in one such e-mail advertising the contest. “That candidate is Hillary Clinton.”
