Donald Trump blamed China Wednesday for aiding the North Korean regime that claims to have successfully tested a hydrogen bomb.
“China has total control over North Korea, and China should solve that problem,” Trump said during an appearance on “Fox and Friends.” “And if they don’t solve that problem, we should make trade very difficult for China.”
“Without China, they wouldn’t eat,” Trump added of North Korea.
Trump pointed to the recent slowing of Chinese economic growth as a sign of potential danger for the U.S. economy. The GOP front-runner has often invoked China as one of the most prominent international adversaries he’d have to deal with as president.
Trump warned that the North Korean dictator was inching toward becoming a real threat to American national security.
“He’s getting too close to doing something,” Trump said of Kim Jong-Un. “We cannot continue to police the world and get nothing for it.”
