On Tuesday, a man told former secretary of State Hillary Clinton that he wanted to “strangle” GOP candidate Carly Fiorina, and the Democratic front-runner had a good laugh.
But you wouldn’t know that from following NBC News’ social media feed.

When NBC issued a link to the story on social media, the news giant chose to include a picture of a very serious and unimpressed-looking Clinton, the exact opposite of how she reacted to the man’s remarks.
The picture included in the tweet showed the Democratic front-runner, lips pursed and brow furrowed, under the headline, “Clinton responds reacts to joke about strangling Carly Fiorina.”
Though the NBC tweet suggested otherwise, Clinton was anything but upset when her supporter joked about choking out the sole female voice in the GOP 2016 primary.

A man who claims to have worked at Hewlett-Packard when Fiorina was the CEO told Clinton that he and several other engineers were laid off, despite that they were making money for the company.
“My division is making money. I get laid off. There’s 20,000 of us. We get laid off,” the supporter said at a Clinton campaign event in New Hampshire. “[Fiorina] told us it was cost-cutting. … I saw friends of mine that in over 20 years in digital, in Hewlett-Packard lose their homes. Their marriages broke up because of the stress and strain they were under.”
Clinton listened as he recounted how an additional 40,000 HP employees were laid off under Fiorina’s watch.
“Every time I see her on TV, I want to reach through and strangle her,” he said, his comments prompting laughter from the audience. “I know that doesn’t sound very nice.”
Clinton also had a long, loud laugh, responding eventually by saying, “I wouldn’t mess with you!”
