Carson drops $500k ad buy in early primary states

Ben Carson has taken over the lead in Iowa, and now he’s taking his message to the air.

According to NBC News, the Carson campaign has made a $500k ad buy starting Friday in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.

The ad buy consists of two commercials, one introducing him to the GOP electorate and the other calling out Washington as a “swamp.” Both ads end with the campaign’s slogan: Heal, Inspire, Revive.

In the introductory ad, Carson says that people “are hungry for some honesty and for some real solutions to the problems that ail us.”

The announcement comes on the heels of two consecutive polls showing Carson topping the GOP field in Iowa and overtaking Donald Trump, who had held the lead in the Hawkeye State since July. Nationally, Carson still trails Trump by six perentage points, 27-21, according to the latest RealClearPolitics national average.

Carson also sits second in the Washington Examiner‘s latest power rankings.
