Trump mocks Cruz: ‘He’s a little baby’

Donald Trump’s closing pitch to Nevada voters Tuesday afternoon was rife with sharp jabs at fellow Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz, saying “he’s like a little baby.”

In his final rally before Republican caucus-goers cast their votes throughout the state, Trump advised his supporters to be on the lookout for “dishonest” tactics employed by the Cruz campaign.

“Watch out for dishonest stuff because I’ll tell you what, there’s a lot of dishonesty in this,” Trump said. “So just watch out. If you see anything, let us know about it.”

Trump said his campaign would have “a lot of people watching because what goes on, and what is going on, is really terrible.”

According to the GOP front-runner, the only thing that could stop him from winning the fourth nominating contest Tuesday is “dishonesty” on behalf of his opponents.

“We have tremendous poll numbers, but you never know,” Trump cautioned. “Dishonesty can knock out a poll very quickly and that’s the only way we lose. You never know.”

Several minutes went by before Trump was back at it, this time comparing Cruz to an infant and repeating his claim that the Texas senator is the “biggest liar” in the 2016 presidential race.

“You meet some bad people,” he told voters. “This guy, Ted Cruz, is the single biggest liar I have ever dealt with in my life. I mean it.”

Trump continued, “He will lie about anything and I’ve met much tougher people than Ted Cruz. He’s like a baby compared to some of the people I have to deal [with].

“He’s like a little baby — soft, weak, little baby by comparison,” Trump added, mimicking the voice of a small child and drawing laughter from the crowd. “But for lying, he’s the best I’ve ever seen.”

Trump suggested that unlike Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton, Cruz has been caught in a web of lies.

“Of course, the great liars are the one’s that don’t get caught. He really got caught,” Trump said, adding that Clinton “so far is doing a good job.”

“Nobody has committed the crimes she’s committed and so far she is sailing along,” he said.

Cruz finished a close third in Saturday’s South Carolina primary and faces a tough battle in Nevada against his two closest competitors, Trump and Marco Rubio.
