CNN announces 11 candidates for main GOP event

This time, it will be eleven.

CNN late Thursday announced the participants in next week’s main Republican presidential debate. Carly Fiorina is the new addition, and the other ten are the candidates who were in the first GOP debate.

Fiorina distinguished herself in the first undercard debate for lower-polling candidates held by Fox News. After a controversy about CNN’s polling criteria, Fiorina was promoted to the main event. Fiorina is ranked #7 on the Examiner’s Power Ranking of GOP presidential candidates.

Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, Rand Paul, John Kasich and Chris Christie will be the other candidates included. The lower-polling candidates will once again appear in an earlier candidates’ forum.

The debate will occur at the Ronald Reagan presidential library in Simi Valley, Calif.
