John Legend, Wayne Brady and Cate Blanchett will all be taking a turn at the Kennedy Center. The schedule announced Tuesday by Michael M. Kaiser, president of the Kennedy Center, highlighted the performances that will be taking the stage next season.
Legend and the Roots will team up to recreate Marvin Gaye’s legendary concert, “What’s Going On,” with the National Symphony Orchestra in May 2012. The original show took place at the Kennedy Center on May 1, 1972. In March 2012, Brady will sing the songs of Sammy Davis Jr. and Sam Cooke with the NSO Pops. Uncle Vanya featuring Blanchett will hit the stage in August 2012.

Kaiser also announced a MY-TIX program, beginning this September, that will give 18-to-30-year-olds opportunities to grab free and discounted tickets to certain performances every month. Members of the military and veterans are also eligible for discounted tickets.
