Silverman cancels on Jewish lit festival

Looks like Sarah Silverman won’t be making the great schlep to D.C. after all.

Because of an “unforeseen scheduling conflict,” Silverman no longer will appear at next month’s Hyman S. and Freda Bernstein Jewish Literary Festival in Washington. Silverman was one of the festival’s headliners and was scheduled to appear Oct. 23 to discuss her book, “The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee.”

Washingtonians may not be missing out. When Silverman appeared at the downtown Borders in April to promote her book, she read one not-that-funny passage and went straight to book signing, skipping out on any opportunity to do stand-up.
