The country hasn’t seen the last of Rick Perry, says Rick Perry.
At a lunch in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Tuesday, the Republican Texas governor hinted at a 2016 presidential candidacy, according to remarks reported by the Sun News in South Carolina.
“I’ve got about 60 more days of being the governor of the state of Texas and then I’m going to do something different,” he said after giving a short speech during a Veterans Day program in the area. “You’ll see me again.”
Later Tuesday, Perry visited gun manufacturer PTR Industries before speaking at a fundraising dinner for the Special Operations Wounded Warriors.
Perry stopped by the ever-important state of New Hampshire on Monday, saying he won’t make a final decision on running until at least May of next year, according to the Associated Press.
A RealClearPolitics average of polls places Perry sixth among potential GOP 2016ers — less than five percentage points behind leader Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul.
