There were few dry eyes at the private screening of the HBO documentary “Wartorn: 1861-2010” at the Pentagon on Thursday night.
The movie, to be released to the public on Veteran’s Day, shares soldiers’ stories of war and brings attention to the invisible wounds of war and severity of post-traumatic stress disorder.
After watching the film, Department of Veterans Affairs’ Tammy Duckworth, who lost both legs in Baghdad and co-hosted the panel discussion, told the audience, “We need to make sure that we take care of all of their wounds, whether they’re visible like mine or hidden.”
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen, Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey Jr. and Army Vice Chief of Staff Gen. Peter Chiarelli also were in attendance.
