Two native Nevadans turned Washingtonians posed for photos at Nationals Park Friday: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Nats rookie Bryce Harper. Reid, an avid baseball fan, previously waxed poetic about the outfielder on the Senate floor back in 2010, calling him a “good role model” and described a home run he hit at age 15 as a “Mickey Mantle-type homerun.” He also rattled off Harper’s junior college stats, apparently without the benefit of notes.
Reid tweeted that he was “excited” to meet the outfielder but remained mum on what he and Harper discussed during their time together. Perhaps deficit reduction.
