Clinton taunts: Snapchat ‘messages disappear all by themselves’

Hillary Clinton loves the communication app Snapchat because, in her words, “those messages disappear all themselves.”

Speaking at the Iowa Democratic Wing Ding on Friday, Hillary joked about the scrutiny she has received for her use of a private server and email during her time as secretary of state.

“You may have seen that I recently launched a Snapchat account,” the Democratic presidential front-runner said at the event. “I love it. I love it,” she said of the service, which allows users to send each other messages and videos that disappear within seconds of being opened.

The quip serves as an implicit taunt to Republicans and others who have criticized her management of State Department emails.

Clinton promoted the clip on Twitter Saturday, in an effort to make light of the situation.

Asked Saturday at the Iowa State Fair if the controversy over the emails was a laughing matter, Clinton pinned it on Republicans.

“If you look at the Republicans in Congress, the ones running for president, there is an unfortunate tendency to try to make partisan a tragedy in Benghazi, which I just fundamentally disagree with,” she said. “I don’t think it’s right and and I will not participate in it. So we’ll see how this all plays out.”

The FBI is investigating Clinton’s personal email server to find out who at the State Department transmitted confidential information to her private email.

Clinton has been criticized for deleting 31,000 personal emails before providing her emails to the State Department.
