Clinton bashes Trump behavior, dismisses personal ties

Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton bashed her Republican counterpart Donald Trump and dismissed any personal ties she has with him while taking questions from the press in New Hampshire on Monday afternoon.

When asked about his behavior towards Fox News’ Megyn Kelly at last Thursday’s Republican debate, Clinton responded that she found Trump’s language “offensive” and “deserving of the reaction that it’s getting, from so many others”

“But I think if we focus on that we’re making a mistake,” Clinton said. “What a lot of men on the stage in that debate said was offensive. And I want people to understand if you just focus on the biggest showman on that stage you lose the thread here.”

While on stage, Trump referred to Kelly as “not very nice,” after she grilled him with a series of questions about insulting women. Later, Trump stated that during the debate Kelly had “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her … wherever,” a comment that received much backlash from Republicans and Democrats alike as being inappropriate.

Rather than focus on Trump’s comments towards Kelly, Clinton chose to condemn the GOP’s pro-life stance, which she believes limits a women’s health care opportunities.

“The Republicans are putting forth some very radical and offensive positions when it comes to women’s lives, women’s reproductive health, women’s employment, women’s opportunities,” Clinton said. “So I think we’ll let the Republicans go back and forth with each other but I’d like to point out that there isn’t much difference in the policies when it comes to American women.”

During the same press gaggle, Clinton was asked why she attended Trump’s 2005 wedding if she so strongly disagrees with him. The former first lady said she attended the wedding with her husband Bill Clinton, because she thought it would be “fun” and “entertaining,” adding, “now that he’s running for president, it’s a little more troubling.”
