Pierce Brosnan and his wife, Keely Shaye Smith, are killing two birds with one stone on their trip to Washington this week. (Not that the committed environmentalists would ever kill a bird, mind you.)
On Monday, the Brosnans testified at a public hearing of the Environmental Protection Agency on climate change.
The Brosnans were introduced as testifying on behalf of the Sierra Club, but club spokesman David Willett said the actor was there to give “his own testimony, and we helped him out with that.”
“Congress, please pass the Waxman-Markey bill this year,” he pleaded, referring to the climate change legislation currently making its way through the House.
Brosnan has a history with the Sierra Club; earlier this year, he starred in a club video that thanked President Barack Obama for his position on environmental issues.
Tonight, Brosnan will appear on Capitol Hill for a reception celebrating the U.S.’s role in whale conservation.
Also on the host committee: Ben Stein, Perrey Reeves from “Entourage,” model/actress Amber Valletta and Goran Visnjic, formerly of “ER.”
