Confident Clinton says she’d beat Bill in a general election

Hillary Clinton said Thursday night that she thinks she could beat her husband, former President Bill Clinton, in a general election race.

“If I were going to run against him, would I win? Yeah,” Clinton said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Thursday night.

Clinton almost made it sound like it could happen. She said if Bill Clinton could run again for the White House, “he would.”

The former secretary of state said she already has plans for Bill Clinton if she wins the White House.

“Really, I more imagine asking him what is the best way to create more jobs really quickly and get wages up,” Clinton said. “Because he did a really good job.” Bill Clinton has recently begun appearing on the campaign trail along with his wife.

Clinton also dispensed some advice to Jeb Bush, who is struggling to stay in the middle of the GOP field in the midst of surging anti-establishment candidates.

“He’s a very accomplished man and he is out there making his case,” Clinton said of Bush’ campaign. “It’s really hard and you know some days are better than other days. I know that from personal experience.”

It was once assumed that Clinton and Bush would face off in the general election, but many have said Bush is all but done. In an effort to revive his campaign, Bush has introduced the slogan “Jeb can fix it!” on the campaign trail.

“It’s really hard to do this, and people’s campaigns change,” Clinton said of Bush with a mocking smile. “You start with something, that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll stick with it all the way.”
