Donald Trump to meet with RNC chair Reince Priebus

Donald Trump, the Republican front-runner for president, will meet with Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus in New York City on Thursday afternoon. The Trump campaign also announced its intention to hold a press conference in Trump Tower at 2 p.m., near the time of the purported meeting.

Speculation from political pundits suggests Priebus’ rendezvous with Trump is aimed at getting The Donald to sign a pledge stating he will support whomever the Republican Party nominates and that he will not run as a third party or independent candidate. Given Trump’s tendency to have his meetings canceled at the last minute — including a visit with Border Patrol agents in southern Texas and his scheduled appearance at the RedState Gathering in Atlanta, Ga., earlier this summer — it would appear that predicting Trump’s actions this afternoon is unknowable.
