Michelle Obama‘s visit Thursday to the Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach gave her some cool-mom street cred.
As part of her “Joining Forces” initiative, the first lady introduced a screening of the new Harry Potter flick, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 2,” at the base’s movie theater. “How many Harry Potter fans are here? How many people have read all the books and seen all the movies?” FLOTUS questioned the crowd of military families, according to the pool report. “Well, you’re right along with the president and my girls. They’ve seen the movie already. They lined right up.”
Before the movie, Obama spent the morning painting sets and watching kids perform a scene from the musical “Annie.” She also read the book “Where the Wild Things Are” to a group of children.
