George Zimmerman: Obama a ‘piece of garbage’ for his gun control moves

George Zimmerman trashed President Obama’s executive actions on gun control Wednesday, calling the commander in chief a “piece of garbage.”

Zimmerman, who became a household name in 2012 after his controversial shooting of Trayvon Martin, was ambushed Wednesday by a TMZ reporter as he was leaving a shooting range near Orlando, Fla.

The reporter asked Zimmerman if he had seen the president’s Tuesday announcement about new gun controls and what he thought of the move. Zimmerman, initially hesitant about responding, finally opened up.

“The man is a disgrace to the country, a disgrace to the Armed Forces. He stood there and pretended to cry and mentioned mass shootings and conveniently left out Fort Hood. What a piece of garbage,” Zimmerman told the reporter.

He called Obama’s tears during the Tuesday press conference “crocodile tears.”

“That’s Obama. He’s trying to abuse the executive privilege to turn America into a dictatorship again,” said Zimmerman, apparently unaware that the United States was founded as a democracy and has never been a dictatorship.
