Trump: Sanders is a liar

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump says Bernie Sanders is lying if he says his campaign isn’t to blame for disrupting Trump’s rally in Chicago.

Sanders-backed protesters were the cause of the disruption Friday, not Trump supporters, Trump told CNN on Sunday.

“A lot of them come from Bernie Sanders, whether he wants to say it or not,” Trump told CNN’s “State of the Union” program. “And if he says ‘no’ then he’s lying.”

“They have Sanders signs all over the place,” Trump said.

While many of the protestors who caused Trump to cancel his Chicago rally were clearly Sanders supporters, Trump has offered no evidence and none has emerged that the senator or his campaign encouraged the protest or efforts to disrupt the Trump rally.

Later Sanders denied those allegations later on the show.

“Trump is not telling the truth,” Sen. Sanders said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “It shouldn’t surprise anybody. He very rarely tells the truth. When he says that our campaign disrupted his meeting, it was not our campaign.”
