Sightings: Documentary attracts Obama pals, ’90s TV actors

White House adviser Valerie Jarrett, Attorney General Eric Holder (with wife Sharon Malone) and HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan were among those who attended a special Monday night screening of the documentary “Slavery By Another Name” hosted by the Ford’s Theatre Society. The 90-minute documentary, to be aired Feb. 13 on PBS, challenges the idea that the Emancipation Proclamation definitively ended slavery, when it fact, thousands of African-Americans were pulled back into the brutal conditions of forced labor. Also in the audience were Rep. Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., BET Chairman and CEO Debra Lee, actor Tim Reid, from “Sister, “Sister” and “That 70’s Show,” and actress Daphne Maxwell Reid, from the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
