The nude market: Cosmo uses Scott Brown’s fame for its own gain

Cosmopolitan magazine is riding it poli-fame into the ground, making it known that the magazine prefers political pinups over young actor, Taylor Lautner types. Just last week, Cosmo invited Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., to pose nude, an offer he publicly declined. And now, in the hopes of enjoying another round of exposure, the girl mag is bringing back its “search for the sexiest single men in the U.S.,” a similar competition to the one Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., won almost three decades ago.

“Here at Cosmo we’ve had bachelors go on to be actors, models and reality show stars, so we’re thrilled that one has gone on to become a politician,” Kate White, Cosmo’s editor in chief, said in a press release.

But will Cosmo actually succeed in attracting some young aspiring politicos to their magazine? We’ll just have to wait for the search to begin.
