C-130s Resume Air drops after National Guard Tragedy

Defense Department said the Air Force’s C-130s resumed fire fighting efforts Thursday after the July 1, tragedy that killed four North Carolina Air National Guard members.

The National Guardsmen died when their C-130 crashed while they were fighting the White Draw Fire in southwestern South Dakota, officials said. Another two crew members were seriously injured, they added.

As of early Thursday morning, the C-130s had conducted roughly 123 airdrop missions in the Rocky Mountain and western terrain, Military officials stated.
