Always changing it up for sometimes inexplicable reasons, the Army rolled out yet another new uniform design Monday — the “Operational Camouflage Pattern” line.
It’s not available in stores yet, and won’t be issued to soldiers until January 2016. But if a soldier just can’t stand another day in that old 2010 “Operation Enduring Freedom Camouflage Pattern,” the new duds will be available for purchase in Army stores this July.
“The Operational Camouflage Pattern was selected following the most comprehensive uniform camouflage testing effort ever undertaken by the Army, reflecting the Army’s paramount commitment to force protection,” the Army said in a news release.
One note: Soldiers in a hurry to get the new look will need to also ditch their “Tan 499-colored shirt,” “Tan-499 colored belt” and “Coyote Brown” boots. Only the new “Sand” colored T-shirt, “Sand”-colored belt and (you guessed it) “Sand”-colored boots are allowed with the new pattern.
