While House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has said she wants a pool table for her 70th birthday (which is Friday), groups on the Left and on the Right have other ideas for the Democrat’s big day.
Overjoyed by Pelosi’s role in passing the health care reform package, liberal bloggers contributing to DailyKos.com have planned for the speaker to receive roses — lots and lots of roses. Organizers predict more than 1,000 roses will be delivered to Pelosi’s Capitol Hill office Friday.
Republicans, though, are thinking early retirement sounds like a better plan. Pelosi’s GOP challenger, John Dennis, used Thursday for an online “Pelosi Birthday Bomb,” advertising that a goal of $100,000 raised might help do the trick to send her packing back to California, permanently.
Whatever happened to just a nice slice of cake?
