Veteran Washington Post reporter Howie Kurtz is leaving the paper for Tina Brown‘s two-year-old online news site, the Daily Beast.
Kurtz, who has been a lead columnist at the Post for 29 years and is said to have “superhuman energy” by editors there, will continue to host the weekly CNN media program, “Reliable Sources.”
“After a lifetime in newspapers, I’m ready for the challenge of fast-paced online journalism,” he said.
No word on an official start date for Kurtz, but according to a spokesman for the Daily Beast, he will assume his new role as Washington bureau chief later this month.
