That’s what Kari Mokko, press secretary to the Embassy of Finland, told Yeas & Nays about the sauna gathering he runs monthly. Mokko invites Washington’s top policy experts, journalists, lobbyists and leaders to sweat it out in a sauna below the Embassy of Finland.
” ‘Flooded’ is a mild word,” Mokko said to describe the requests he has received to join the Diplomatic Finnish Sauna Society of D.C. since the Post ran a story on the group he founded two years ago.
The Finnish Embassy held a posh supper party Friday night, and in case you were wondering, the party did not end in the sauna. However, Ambassador Pekka Lintu did give out many invitations to the next event.
