Graham: Obama is worse than Neville Chamberlain

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., argued Thursday that the Iran nuclear agreement proves that President Obama is the worst champion of freedom and fighter of evil the world has ever seen, worse even than the British politician who negotiated with Adolf Hitler.

“President Obama is absolutely the most poor champion of freedom and the weakest opponent of evil in history,” he declared on the Senate floor. “Evil is flourishing on his watch.”

Graham, a presidential candidate in the back of the crowded GOP field (15th on the Washington Examiner‘s power rankings), indicated that Obama is even worse than Neville Chamberlain, the British prime minister who hoped a deal ceding territory to Germany would create “peace in our time” with Hitler.

“At least Chamberlain can say, ‘Hitler lied,'” Graham said. “At least Chamberlain can say, I negotiated with the Fuhrer, and he told me to my face, if you give me this, I’m done.”

But Graham said Obama is worse because Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is making it clear that Iran wants to eradicate Israel. He said Khamenei is “crazy” and a “religious Nazi,” but said he’s at least making his intentions clear.

“At least he’s honest. He doesn’t what you to be confused as you vote as to what he wants to do to your friend Israel,” Graham said to Democrats who support the Iran deal.

Graham said Obama’s foreign policy record shows he doesn’t know how to handle various threats around the world. He chastised Obama for pulling troops out of Iraq, which allowed the Islamic State to take control, and then dismissed the group as a “JV team.”

“At what point in time do you realize that President Obama has no idea what he’s talking about?” he asked. “At what point in time is it obvious to anyone in the world who’s paying attention, when it comes to radical Islam, he has no clue?”

“When they write the history of these times, they’re going to look back and say that President Obama was a weak opponent of evil and a poor champion of freedom,” he said.
