First lady Michelle Obama may be committed to healthy eating, but that isn’t going to stop her from letting the first family nosh on some fatty foods this Super Bowl Sunday.
In an interview with Rachel Ray airing Wednesday, the first lady hinted that raw veggies and fat-free dip weren’t exactly on hers or President Obama‘s list of favorite game-day snacks. “You know nachos are always good, [if] it’s fresh tomato sauce and you get it on sort of a good quality tortilla,” she said, going on to note that the president “loves avocado. That’s his favorite snack food, a chip dipped in some guac.”
While this year’s party will likely be a small family affair, Michelle did come under fire last year for serving bratwurst, cheeseburgers and deep dish pizza at the Super Bowl party she hosted at the White House — a decision she later defended as part of striking a “balance” between occasional indulgences and everyday eating.
