Half the GOP 2016 candidates in Sunday show blitz

Almost half the 17 Republican presidential candidates will appear on one of the Sunday morning shows, with front-runner Donald Trump appearing on both ABC’s “This Week” and CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

The other Republican candidates have an opportunity to highlight their own policy proposals and wrest some of the media spotlight from Trump Sunday, if they are not sucked into discussion of the Trump phenomenon. Discussion of Trump and his widening lead over the other candidates will likely dominate again this Sunday.

ABC’s “This Week” — Republican presidential candidates Gov. Scott Walker, R-Wis., and Trump will appear, as well as Democratic presidential candidate and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley.

NBC’s “Meet the Press” — Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina will be interviewed by host Chuck Todd. Gov. Jerry Brown, D-Calif., is scheduled to appear to discuss Hillary Clinton’s emails, reports The Hill.

CBS’ “Face the Nation” — Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Gov. Chris Christie, R-N.J., all had pre-taped interviews with host John Dickerson in Iowa. Ken Burns will also appear on the show to discuss the 25th anniversary of his classic documentary series “The Civil War.”

CNN’s “State of the Union” — Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson, Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and Democratic presidential candidate former Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., will all be interviewed.

“Fox News Sunday” — Hillary Clinton’s unfolding email scandal will be the likely topic of conversation with former Bush administration Attorney General Michael Mukasey. Republican presidential candidate former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark., will appear as well as “Draft Biden” 2016 senior advisor Josh Alcorn.
