Donald Trump said Sunday he doesn’t plan to enact bans on certain media organizations if elected president, as he’s done during his campaign.
Asked on ABC’s “Full Measure” whether he sees himself banning reporters from certain events, Trump said “no,” but immediately noted that it’s done by some groups.
“No, I don’t see that, but a lot of people have done it and a lot of different businesses have done it,” Trump said.
Earlier in the campaign season, the Trump campaign banned reporters from outlets including the Washington Post, the Huffington Post and Politico from his campaign events. The campaign has recently stopped the practice, but Trump still regularly accuses the press of dishonesty.
“The press has been very, very dishonest, and when I see it I’m amazed,” Trump said. “When you do something great and they try to make it as negative as possible constantly it’s really not a fair situation.”
