Mike Pence will decide on 2016 in early 2015

Gov. Mike Pence won’t reveal until next year whether he intends to run for president in 2016.

The Indiana Republican, who was in New Hampshire Friday campaigning for House candidate Marilinda Garcia and gubernatorial hopeful Walt Havenstein, told RealClearPolitics his presidential fate will be decided after Indiana’s legislative session.

“So after we get through that,” he said, citing the budget session of Indiana’s legislature which concludes in April 2015, “we’ll sit down as a family and think and pray about where we get called to serve.”

Currently serving his first term as Indiana governor after spending 12 years in the House, Pence told RCP he is focused on running for re-election in Indiana in 2016.

Pence has kept a low profile compared to other potential GOP presidential hopefuls, but his name has gained mention from conservatives who are excited by his evangelical background and polished stumping skills.
