Report: Scalia died of a heart attack

Antonin Scalia died of a heart attack, according to a report Sunday.

Presidio County Judge Cinderela Guevara told WFAA that the Associate Justice of the Supreme Court died of myocardial infraction: a heart attack. Scalia was 79.

The cause is listed on his death certificate.

Scalia died in a relatively remote part of west Texas, on a hunting trip. He was pronounced dead at 1:52PM Saturday legally, but died hours before. It took time to get Guevara on the phone long enough, as cell service is spotty in Presidio County, about 30 miles south of Marfa, according to the report.

“After I did my job, yes, I kept playing it over and over in my mind and thought, ‘Oh my God. History is being made in Presidio County,” Guevara said. “It’s something I’ll never forget.”

“I just feel that we have lost a great defender of the Constitution, and it’s a big loss for the United States of America,” she said.
