Hillary supporters faint: ‘It was the Republicans’ ideas’

Hillary Clinton had to stop twice during her Memphis speech Friday as audience members passed out, something she jokingly blamed on the Republicans.

Clinton started her remarks in an overcrowded room at LeMoyne-Owen College 45 minutes late. No more than five minutes after she began, she stopped her speech to call attention to a man who appeared to faint.

“Can we get someone to help?” she asked repeatedly, later adding once the situation cleared up, “I thought maybe it was the Republicans’ ideas who done it.”

Just moments later Clinton halted her speech abruptly because a woman in the front row looked faint and needed some water. Clinton had a local lawmaker bring her some.

The former secretary of state then tore into the Republicans.

“A lot of the civil rights, gay rights and voting rights are under attack by our Republican friends,” Clinton said. “I think we can be stronger when we work together. I think we can be stronger when we support each other. One of Americas great assets is our diversity.”

During the first Democratic debate, Clinton boasted the Republicans were her proudest enemy. This is her first campaign swing through Tennessee this year.
