Indy filmmakers looking for cast of ‘H Street’ sitcom

Who’s ready for a little role playing?

Never mind that reality shows from the nation’s capital have famously failed, independent filmmakers from Atlas District Productions are currently casting for a sitcom called “H Street,” clearly named after the sketchy-turned-trendy Northeast neighborhood.

Filmmakers are looking for an array of characters to play your typical Washington stereotypes. There’s Charles, an African-American H Street bar owner who is “annoyed by hipsters.” There’s Mitch, a bow-tie wearing Tennessee Republican who annoys people by “speaking his mind.” And there’s Kennedy, a Bostonian liberal who plans to become the next Hillary Clinton and thinks the world needs more taxes. The show also needs someone to play a burglar, who can pull off a terrible British accent, and a bartender, who spills all of his life problems to his customers, among others.

The deadline for interested actors is April 22. Shootingfor the pilot is slated for late spring.
