Colorado shooting suspect says he’s a ‘warrior for the babies’

The suspect in the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood shooting told a judge Wednesday that he is guilty of killing three people and views himself as a “warrior for the babies.”

In a Wednesday hearing, prosecutors announced charges of first-degree murder against Robert Lewis Dear for killing two civilians and a campus police officer as well as injuring nine other people in the Nov. 27 mass shooting.

The 57-year-old defendant said during the hearing that he was guilty and that there would not be a trial.

He also objected to his lawyer’s attempt to limit publicity. Dear said the state public defender’s office wants to seal documents and limit discussion of his case to hide what he saw inside the clinic.

“You’ll never know what I saw in that clinic. Atrocities. The babies. That’s what they want to seal,” he said.
