Morpheus helps U.N. mark anniversary

Amnesty International is the newest organization to jump on the viral video bandwagon, made most famous this year with will.i.am’s video supporting Barack Obama. Georgetown hosted a screening of the new video, titled “The Price of Silence,” which marks the 60th anniversary of when the Universal Declaration on Human Rights was implemented. Because “music has no enemies,” music producer Andres Levin decided to make a music video of 15 artists who he believed “represented many culture and countries.”

And they did indeed, for most Americans may only recognize actor Laurence Fishburne, who introduces the video.  Natalie Merchant is the only American musician represented. Wide representation is good in some cases, but don’t expect a million plus YouTube hits without the big Hollywood celebrities.
