Racist group robocall: Trump will ‘help preserve Western civilization’

A white nationalist group sent out robocalls to Wisconsin voters in support of billionaire real estate mogul Donald Trump ahead of Tuesday’s primary.

According to a recording of the robocall, which was sent out by the American National super political action committee, a Trump presidency will be respectful of “all women” and will “help preserve Western civilization.”

“The American National super PAC makes this call to support Donald Trump,” the narrator says in the voice of an elderly woman. “He will not only be presidential, he will put America first. … He will respect all women and help preserve Western civilization.”

“If you vote for Donald Trump, he will be a fine president. He will select the very best persons to to be in his cabinet and the entire world will benefit from his leadership,” the narrator says.

Toward the end of the 47 second call, the narrator tells listeners that call was paid for by William Johnson, who is described as a “farmer and a white nationalist.” According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Johnson spent about $6,000 on the robocall, which began hitting every landline in the Badger State on Saturday.

Soon after the ad began making waves, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker denounced the ad, calling it “outrageous” while traveling in support of Sen. Ted Cruz. Walker endorsed Cruz over Trump and Ohio Gov. John Kasich last week ahead of Tuesday’s primary.

According to the RealClearPolitics average, Cruz leads Wisconsin with 40.2 percent support to Trump’s 33.7 percent support. Tuesday’s primary is the last one on the Republican side until New York on April 19.
