Walsh’s degree revoked

A plagiarism scandal has now claimed Sen. John Walsh’s master’s degree.

The Montana Democrat, who was appointed earlier this year, dropped out of the race to fill his Senate seat after it was revealed that he had plagiarized parts of his thesis at the Army War College.

A college spokeswoman said today that it revoked his degree.

An academic review board at the college heard the case in late August but it did not finish the appeal process until this week, according to ABC News.

In a statement, Walsh’s office said the senator disagreed with the decision but accepted it.

“I apologize to all Montanans for the plagiarism in my 2007 paper, and I am prepared to live with its consequences,” Walsh said in the statement.
