Namaste: Yoga comes to the DNC

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Delegates and guests at the Democratic National Convention can work on their downward facing dog before breakfast all week.

Yoga Shala Charlotte owner Hollace Stephenson tells Yeas & Nays that organizers wanted “to raise the vibration” and the awareness of wellness at the convention. “It’s not just all party and food and politics,” she said. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own mats to Midtown Park. For those seeking higher-energy activities, a Zumba class will immediately follow yoga at 8 a.m.
