She spent years working for the CIA and the Department of Defense, living abroad and briefing members of Congress. She then penned a novel about one of her other great interests, religion.
But when most people ask Gail Dawson McNally about her life, they don’t ask her about any of that –they ask the Alexandria resident about her prom date, Jack Nicholson.
Just in time for prom season, McNally shared her photo and story with Yeas & Nays.
“I was a cheerleader and Jack was a very good basketball player, but he was short,” she said. “We, of course, had to travel on the buses to all these various games, so he and I became very good buddies.”
The two of them ended up going to junior prom together at Manasquan High School in New Jersey. She held on to both the original photos.
McNally has tried to get back in touch with her prom date throughout the years, but without much luck.
She’s in town promoting her first novel, “The Return: Christ Has Died, Christ Is Risen, Christ Will Come Again.”
