Trump: Cruz is smarter than Rubio, but Rubio’s nastier

Donald Trump spent Super Tuesday eve dishing on his fellow Republican presidential candidates. The GOP front-runner laid out his picks for the most nasty, untruthful and smartest of the top-ranked candidates.

The GOP front-runner compared Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio’s characters in a Fox News interview late Monday, telling Sean Hannity what he thinks about his competition.

“Well, Rubio’s a nasty guy. I always call him a lightweight,” Trump said before hitting on Rubio’s sexual comments on him.

“He said ‘He’s 6’2″ or 6’3″,’ I’m actually 6’3″, but he said ‘He’s got small hands.’ Are my hands small? I never heard of that one, but you know he’s very nasty and he’s very desperate,” Trump told Hannity at the beginning of the 30-minute interview.

Trump, ranked first in the Washington Examiner’s presidential power rankings, also bashed Cruz’s character before giving him points for his intelligence.

“And Cruz, look I know he’s a friend of yours, but he’s not exactly truthful and I think that’s why I’m doing so well with the Evangelicals, they like the truth,” Trump told Hannity. “I used to think that Cruz was nasty … untruthful and nasty, but he’s more untruthful, the other one is nasty. Cruz is smarter of the two.”

The interview moved on to Trump’s expectations for his performance in the 13 Super Tuesday GOP primaries. The self-funded billionaire said the top two performers in the Republican party should go forward and the others should consider dropping out.

Cruz and Rubio are ranked second and third, respectively.
