Country songstress Taylor Swift, in Alexandria Tuesday to play a private concert for students at Bishop Ireton High School, got some special treatment on the way out.
Sources tell us that after she concluded her hour-long set, police blocked off Duke Street around the corner from the school for about ten minutes, as Swift got a four-car police escort out of town — just as the afternoon rush was picking up.
Bishop Ireton students earned the show — part of a promotion by Verizon Wireless — by sending text messages to a certain cell number.
A school spokeswoman said the auditorium was filled to capacity, as nearly all of the school’s 800 students wanted to attend (even if you’re not a country fan, it beats class).
Swift, who had a break in her tour between dates in St. Louis and Charleston, S.C., flew in and out for the lucky students.
And on her way back to Dulles, she proved she’s a regular girl, stopping for subs and sodas at the Subway inside an Exxon station.
