Scratch what we said about Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar being the only quasi-celebrities endorsing Rick Santorum. This week Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine also came out for the former Pennsylvania Senator.
Mustaine, who covered the 1992 presidential election for MTV, chatted with MusicRadar.com and explained how Santorum got on his radar. “Earlier in the election, I was completely oblivious as to who Rick Santorum was, but when the dude went home to be with his daughter when she was sick, that was very commendable,” Mustaine said.

He also noted how Santorum had stayed above the fray when it came to attack ads. “You know, I think Santorum has some presidential qualities, and I’m hoping that if it does come down to it, we’ll see a Republican in the White House…and that it’s Rick Santorum,” he said.
